Welcome to Circuit Cycle — a dedicated student-organized team on a mission to reduce the environmental impact of electronic waste, or e-waste through education, collection, and recycling. Our goal is simple: give new life to old electronics while ensuring a healthier, cleaner future for our community and planet. Project Circuit Cycle is made possible by the Youth Climate Action Fund of West Palm Beach City, funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies.
E-waste refers to discarded electronic devices such as old computers, phones, TVs, and batteries. When not properly disposed of, these electronics can release harmful chemicals like lead, mercury, and cadmium into the environment. These toxic substances can contaminate soil, water, and air, posing serious risks to human health, wildlife, and ecosystems. This is particularly an issue in Florida, where our drinking water is sourced from groundwater. Proper recycling and disposal are crucial to preventing these environmental and health hazards.
